New Pilot Information

Thank you for your interest in joining cargolux.virtual Airlines (vCLX). We are the one and only officially approved - by the real world airline - cargolux.virtual and we pride ourselves as one of the most professional Virtual Airlines on the Internet. Before you join, we would like to answer some of the most frequently asked questions and also we would like to give you some - actually very few - guidelines. We consider as being important for you PRIOR joining. Any question not answered please do not hesitate to ask.

What is cargolux.virtual Airlines?
cargolux.virtual is a group of hobbyist that enjoy flight simulator and Cargolux Airlines. We are a community of people with common interest and we enjoy spending time together flying online, share experiences in regards to our flights. Our virtual airline provides you with valuable resources to make your flying experience as realistic as the real world counterpart.

What does "online-only VA" mean?
cargolux.virtual only accepts pilots who are registered members of the VATSIM network (www.vatsim.net). For information on how to fly online at VATSIM please visit their Pilot Resource Center for more information (www.vatsim.net/prc) and then come back apply with us. We are currently not in a position to offer any training for newcomers but we are looking into the possibility to help you with our preferred aircraft (the B747-400F model from PMDG).
cargolux.virtual does not accept "offline pilots", or pilots who fly on other networks (e.g. IVAO, The Zone networks, or others)!
All your flying shall be conducted online on VATSIM, which is also a mandatory thing in regards to "Pilot Reports" and accounting of your flights!

What is the "probation period"?
Once you have completed the application form are assigned a pilot-id, you MUST BOOK AND FLY your first flight at cargolux.virtual within 14 days. Failure to do so will consider your application as nil and void.

What does Virtual.Cargolux require of its pilots to remain active?
After successful completion of your probation period you must fly at least one (1) flight per month to remain active. If you are unable to do this then you must request "Leave of Absence" (LOA). cargolux.virtual will look at "LOA-requests" on a case by case basis and it is the pilots responsibility to stay in contact with the Human-Resource Manager on this issue. Pilots not flying will receive a warning letter after 30 days. If the pilot concerned fails to communicate or fly during the following 30 days he/she is subject to termination at this point without any further discussions. In extreme circumstances, pilots will be allowed to return to cargolux.virtual if they were removed from the roster.

What is the preferred aircraft to be used?
As we try and simulate the flying activities of the real-world airline, we also like to be as close a possible to the real deal when it comes to the aircraft we like you to use for your flying. We highly recommend the B747-400F model from Precision Manuals (www.precisionmanuals.com) as we feel that their performance and payload modeling comes close to the real world aircraft.

Can I transfer hours from my previous Virtual Airline?
cargolux.virtual likes to hear about your previous flying career, but we are not accepting any hour transfer for your new career. Everyone starts at the "bottom of the list" and enjoys his virtual career path.

That sounds good to me, I want to submit an application
